Four of Hands – Social Event
(Structure Cards)

Man is a social animal and thought has a public dimension. The social event is a brief escape from the struggle and competition of everyday life. A moment framed by time and space, by the intention to celebrate and enjoy what life has to offer: The accomplishments of civilization and culture. To create and form a community. A space in which we wish to suspend judgment and create social connections from a place of curiosity and interest. A way to position ourselves with our worldview before the diversity of humanity.

The social event demands and presents conditions, it is subject to the principle of hospitality: Accepting the similar, the other, and the different as part of the experience of human life.

The social event is a moment of entering the cultural, artificial world. A space for the display and exchange of images, the trading floor of stories. A place that produces tension and anxiety as well as exaltation and catharsis.

We have something to say, we have something to share with the other.
We have a need and desire for recognition. First and foremost because of the need and desire for a purposeless pleasure: To be in the company of people as people. To talk, laugh, share, give, and receive.

Let your thoughts meet others.
